About deshelved
deshelved helps a group get a game night to actually happen: agree on a date everyone can make, pick something from the shelves you already own, and keep a record of what you played.
Why it exists
Most game nights die in the scheduling. Somebody suggests a date, three people reply, and it quietly never happens — and when it does happen, half the evening goes on deciding what to play. deshelved takes both of those off the table: guests vote on dates and games without needing an account, and the games come from collections you have already imported.
Where the game data comes from
Game titles, cover art, player counts, playing times, complexity ratings and the community player-count polls all come from BoardGameGeek, the board game community's database. Their data is what makes it possible to search for a game by name, show you which count a game plays best at, and import a collection in one step rather than typing in a hundred titles.
deshelved is not affiliated with BoardGameGeek. Your ratings and play history here are your own, and are never written back to BGG.

Who makes it
deshelved is built and run by one person, for their own game group first and anyone else who finds it useful second. There is no company behind it and nothing is sold — no ads, and your data is not shared with anyone.
